Knee pain and stiffness can be difficult to treat and can limit a person's lifestyle. An intra-articular knee injection is an effective treatment where medicine is delivered directly into the knee joint. The most common types of injections contain hyaluronic acid or corticosteroids. Hyaluronic acid is a lubricant that can improve joint function and reduce pain, while corticosteroids are powerful anti-inflammatory medications.
